" The Middle East" —almost magical words in Ihese days, particularly in view of the fact of our New Zealand men serving there. Throughout the centuries it has been realised by statesmen that the Midd,le East is indeed the " focal point of the nations." Possession of this area is vital to the strategy of any nation seeking world domination or, on the other hand, freedom of movement and growth for all peoples.
