A CHARGE OF AIDING v
FINES TOTAL £10
Two charges of aiding and counselling in the commission of an offence relating to the using of a petrol license for a purpose othe; than set out in the application, was brought against Abel Elrnest Blake, at the Opotiki Court last Aveek. The charges arose out of a case heard at the previous monthly sitting of the O'potiki court, Avhen defendants son-in-law faced a charge of misusing a petrol license.
Mr Hodgson, who appeared for defendant, entered a plea of guilty.
Sergeant Isbister briefly outlined trie circumstances surrounding the case, stating that actually 484 gallons had been procured, but owing to the lapse of time, the two charges only involved two lots of 132 gallons each.
Mr Hodgson stated that Blake had paid the fines for the previous charges. The petrol had been used for farming purposes. Fines of £5 were imposed on each charge, the costs being 10s in each case.
