Although, before the outbreak of the Avar, French firms had practically a monopoly in the distribution of amalgam, the composition used in filling dental cavities, the source of supply since the collapse of France Tinder Nazi domination has changed from France lo the United States. American imports in both instruments and compounds are now commonly received by dentists, and although French merchants arc highly specialised in meeting the requirements of the profession, it cannot be said that American products are inferior.
