FAREWELL FUNCTION

WAIMANA EVENT

POPULAR COUPLE HONOURED

There was a large assembly of local residents in the Waimana Hall last Monday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs T. Barr. Mr Barr having been manager of the Waimana dairy factory for the past six years, and proved most efficient in nil his duties. He was also keen on sport and was secretary of the local Golf Club for the current season, until his time of leaving.

The dance music w r as supplied by A. orchestra, and Mir H. Wardlaw made a most efficient M.C, After a dainty suujaer had been served, Mr J. Mitchell called on Mr Barr to accept a cheque from all present and wished him to purchase Something to place in his new home by which to remember the people of Waimana.

The speaker wished Mr Barr every

guccess in his new position at Cam bridge.

Mr Barr responded in a most cheery manner, thanking Mir Mitchell for his kind remarks and all for the pleasant evening and gift. Mr Barr also thanked the directors and suppliers of the factory for their great db-operation during his term as manager, and was sure they would continue to extend the same Co-operation to his successor.
