EXPORT KILLINGS The official figures of export killings at the Dominion's freezing works from Ist October, 1940, till 12th July, 1941, as issued hy the New Zealand Meat Producers Board show that lamb killings have reached a total; of 11,195,313 or 825,098 carcases above that of 'the previous season. Ewe killings now show a decrease of 387,440 carcases compared with the previoues season, the current total being 1,531,739. Wethers have declined by 691,173, the killings this season totalling 614,031. . Details ot lamb and mutton production to July 12, with 'the corresponding figures for the previous season (to July 13) in parentheses are as follows: — North' Island. Wether mutton (C/cs) 511,95G (1,129,440) Ewe mutton (C/cs) 860,514 (1,218,964) Lambs (C/cs) 5,790,940 (5,296,946) South Island. Wether mutton (C/cs) 99,075 ( 175,764) Elwe mutton (C/cs) 671,225 ( 700,215) Lamb (C/cs) 5,404,403 (5,073,299) Frozen beef production has reached 682,491 quarters*compared with 084,979. Porker killings (210,506 in the North Island and 8108 in the South) total 218,614, showing an increase of 127,245 carcases. Baconer killings were as follows: North Island 278,010 (compared with 313,520): South Island 9149 (12,026) a decrease this season of 38,397 carcases. Killings of choppers total) 10,195 being a decrease of 826. Killings of other classes of meal expressed in 601b freight carcases were as follows, with the figures for the previous season 'to approximately the same date, shown in parentheses: — Boneless beef 668,282 (851,565) Boneless bobby veal 85,443 ( 75,009) Sundries 411,182 (451,716)
