RED CROSS CAMPAIGN
SEVERAL FUNCTIONS HELD RANG IT A IKI LEADEII CHOSEN The Rangitaiki representative to lead in the campaign for Red Cross funds and to be supported by the Te Teko, Matata, and Awakeri districts has been chosen, Mrs H. Burt having agreed to undertake the duties. It is expected that these districts will commence their efforts to raise fund shortly. In Whakatanc a start lias been made with good results, on Thursday afternoon a bridge party bein£> held at the residence of Mrs W. Thompson to aid Mrs Tippctt's group, while the Presbyterian Ladies Guild organised a Bring and Buy stall to aid Mrs T. W. James' group. This was held in the patriotic shop and received satisfactory support. Last nigh't the Knox Bible presented their "Pageant of Empire" '-it the King Street Hall, this; performance attracting a large audience ind the proceeds also going to the support of Mrs James. Last week at Taneatua Mrs J. S. Moody commenced their campaign with a Bring and Buy stall, the sum of £30 being obtained.
