JIM'S CAMP ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS TO BE EFFECTED ; DONATION from county . COUNCIL , ' X —: ' At Monday's meeting of the Wha-* katane County Council an application for a subsidy was received from Mr N. Carter, who, reported the chairman had stated that if the council would assist with a donation would effect improvements to Jim's Camp Road at the southern end of Oh ope Beach. C It was contended that this road Iwas used by campers at the beacfr sand other people and Cr H. C. Mc» Thready ,in supporting' the suggestion! s/tated that this access to the Ohiwa harbour and to attractive camping grounds would be used more in tftle future. He said that already sormv campers were favouring thei south-* ern end of the beach and the roatf provided was far from satisfactory - It was decided thai as Mr Carter had guaranteed to with working bees have the work done to bring the road into reasonable order the council make a donation of £5.
