Perfectly cast in the title role is Tyrone Power, who excels all his previous -portrayals; in the characterisation of the reckless and daring adventurer, who defends the rights of the oppressed against their persecutors. Basil Rathbone gives a fine performance in a typical role, and the culmination of a film crammed with exciting action comes when the principals engage in a breathlessly realistic duel to the death.
