BLADES AND BEARDS
It would appear as though modern man may soon be faced wi|th the dread alternative of shaving himself with the old-fashioned blade razor or growing a beard, as according to the latest advice'from Home there is every probability of an acute shortage of safety razer blades .within the noxt. few months. Should this come to pass, the brave few who have remained faithful to the "cut-throat" will indeed be in a position to smile compassionately at those of a younger generation who have been brought up in an era of "safety first'"; unless indeed these latter, encouraged by a perusal of old volumes of Punch to see how compatible were beards with youth and elegance, should revert to those adornments rather than face the terrors of the naked blade; and thus the beard come into its own one*, more.
