CHARGED IN LOCAL COURT FINKS IMPOSED Fines wore imposed on two Maoris who were charged yesterday before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., at the, local court with having behaved offensively in the street. Richard Ratahi, was chargod, and for the prosecution, Sergeant M. Farrell stated that such practices had been causing a great deal of objection in the town. Ratahi was fined £S with costs £1 3s. A similar charge was preferred against Tami Kereti, and a similar fine was imposed, while for a breach of a prohibition order the same offender was fined £3 and 10s cost's,. The us© of obsence language at a fish shop on Monday night resulted in Edward Hawcra being fined £3. Charge of Theft. Patare Watawiri was charged with the theft of a jar of sweets, valued at 7s 6d and two bottles of soft drinK the property of Sarah de Lacey. On the request of the Police a remand was granted until July 15.
