W.W.S.A. DANCE

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION CROWD AT WAIMANA A most successful dance was held in the Waimaiia Hall last Thursday evening, taking the form of a Mad Hatter's dance, and the many "mad hats" caused great laughter. The function was well attended, and all seemed toi have a good time. The dance music was contributed by Mir and Mrs M. King, and extras were played by Miss M. Wardlaw, and Mr M. Burke. Mr 11. Wardlaw made a most efficient M.C. and Mr R. Morton was doorkeeper. The novelty, dances werei varied and enjoyed by all. The winning ladies hat was a hen's nest of eggs and Avon by Mliss E. Doran, and the winning gent's was Mr N. Gallagher's hat, which comprised half a Kumi Kumi shell, decorated with Red Beet leaves andi tree tomatoes. The novelty dances were as follows: Spot Waltz, Avon by Mrs Hodgson and Mr T. Boynton; The Statue* Log Cabin, Mids M. Woolfield and Mr Rau; Novelty Monte Carlo, Miss Wragge and Mr R. Bell; Mys>tery Chain Waltz, Miss K. Doran; Lucky Gay Gordon's, Miss M. Wardlaw and Mr Addison. After an excellent supper had been served by the W.W.S.A. committee, Mr H. Wardlaw thanked all who had helped both at the dance, at the stall held in the Domain recently and special thanks to Mr H. Bell, avlio gaA r e the; total takings of a picture programme last Tuesday Aveek, £10 being received. The. amount required by the W.W.S.A. for medical supplies for the emergency casualty clearing sitation at Waimana was £30. and that amount has ust about been raised. The dance continued until a late hour, Avhen the National Anthem Avas played.
