WINNING THE WAR
BRITISH EXPORTS THE BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC The, economic aspects of the wai are daily growing more significant, states a London exchange. It must not be forgotten that the assault of the enemy in the Atlantic is direct* ed as much against preventing Brit' ish exports as against cutting oft' the supplies of these islands. The confidence expressed in the ultimate outcome of the Battle of the Atlantic must therefore be a source of strength to overseas buy ers who have maintained and increased their purchases from British manufacturers. It is not necessary now to emphasise! that British exports are reach-, ing overseas markets. The factl speak for themselves. In a similar way, the standards that have been maintained by British manufactur-* ers arc proof in themselves that producers of all classes of goods in this [country are playing their part in forwarding the great export drive. They recognised from the very start that the essential factor in any attempt to increase exports is i 0 supply the highest quality goods. They have adhered to this principle with the result that overseas buyers now know that not only arc they playing a vital part in Avinning the war when they buy British g00.1r,, but also that they are obtaining articles of the highest quality, made from the best materials by the finest craftsmen in the Avorld.
