SAFE BLOWERS AGAIN
VISIT TO TE PUKE FLOOR COVERINGS USE!D TO DEADEN EX PLOSION The safe, blowers have again been active in the Bay, the scene of theii latest exploits being the office of the Tauranga Electric Power Board at To Puke, the safe being blasted open with explosives and a cash box containing over £6 stolen. The office was entered over tho week-end, but it was not until a member of the staff of the Powet Board went to the office to open up that it was discovered anything wan amiss. On arrival at the office he found that the door had been forced, and on going inside discovered the safe which had been blown open, the dis ordered condition of the office indK eating that the floor coverings had been used to dciaden the noise of tho explosion. From investigations! made by the police it is believed that some evidence has been obtained which would appear to indicate that the office was entered in the early hour? of Sunday morning. The cash box, it is believed, has been found.
