POLICING OF DISTRICT
COUNTY COUNCIL'S REPRESENTATIONS REPLY OF MINISTER The Minister in Charge of the Police Department wrote to Tuesday's council meeting referring to the council's letter of 26th February relating to the necessity of stationing a resident policeman at Rangitaiki and establishing a full time police service at Te Whaiti. He advised that thei council's representations had been fully considered, and it was regretted that at the present time it was not possible to provide further police service at the places mentioned. The matter would not be lost sight of, however, and would reoeive further consideration when conditions again bccome normal. It was recommended that the Hon. Minister be thanked for his reply and in the meantime he be respectfully requested to assure the council that the Wliakatane Police would have sufficient benzine to assure the adequate supervision of outlying districts.
