OBITUARY
MR F. J. RENNETT The sudden death occurred last week of Mr F. J. Rennett, one of Opotiki's leading businessmen. Mr Rennett, wlio was in l.is 52nd yeai was born in Norfolk, England. He lived for some years in Sandringham two miles from Sandringhi m House, liis father being one of the King's tenants. At the age of lfi years Mr Rennett came to Ncav Zealand, commencing work in Gishorn*-. At ihe time of his going to the Great War at the age of 25 years, Mr Rennett was employed at the freezing works. He served with the New Zealand forces in Egypt and other theatres of the war, in the Wellington Mounted Rifles. After the Avar, Mi Rennett returned to New Zealand and settled in Opotiki, commencing business ai a batcher. He leaves n widow and son and daughter, Freddie and Pauline, to mourn their loss. The funeral which took place on Wednesday last was very largely attended, membqrs of the R.S.A. turning out in force to honour their late comrade. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. C. G. G. Salt.
