Gather the branches Avhen they are about to turn colour, and stand them in a jar Avith enough crude glycerinc in it to coA r er the bottom of the branches for about ttvo inches. Fill up the jar Avith Avater in Lhe ordinary Avay. The brandies Avill absorb a certain amount of the glycerine, and the leaA*e.s Avill remain soft and flexible. turning to a loA'ely rich brown, instead of shrivelling and faM ; ng as they Avould do naturally. The water may be changed al'lf!a week or tAvo, but no more give-M----ine is required. The branches v/i'l remain fresh and decorative throughout the winter. <■*
