WATER SUPPLY
EDGECUMBE'S NEEDS SMALLER SCHEME SUGGESTED The Whakatane County Council having considered the time inopportune to institute a watef supply for Edgecumbe at a cost of £2000, has been approached to consider financing a smaller scheme for a portion of the town which it isj suggested would be fed from the factory. This scheme would l entail greatly less outlay, according to Cr D. W. Spence, who reported on the matter. A committee was set up at yesterday's meeting to invesftiigate the proposal and to report to the next meeting.
