MINISTER'S REPLIES
RESULT OF DEPUTATIONS EDGECUMBE SCHOOL AFFAIRS When the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Education, visited this district on June 3 he was waited upon by a deputation representing the Ed'gecunvbe School Committee and Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P. for Tauranga, has now received' replies from; the Minister regarding the matters discussed. Mr Mason's letter reads as follows : "Referring to the deputation that waited upon me at Edgecumbe on 3rd Juno, representing the Edgecumbe School Committee, I havo upon my return inquired into the question of the acquiring of an additional playing area and find that the Auckland Education Board imports that Notice) of Intention to take the land under the Public Works Act has been advertised, thp period expiring in about t\vo> weeks' time. Application for the issue of the Proclamation will then be sent to the Public Works Department. You will thus see that the matter is in a fair way to completion." School Bus Service. Mr Doidge continues : "Your Edgecumbe readers-will also be glad to learn that the Minister writes informing me that Gow's Road bus service for children attending the Edgecumbe School is to be resumed. This matter was subject of a deputation to the Minister recently. Dental Clinic. On the occasion of the visit of the Minister for Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, on Saturday last a deputation from the Edgecumbe School Committee waited on him regarding dental clinic matters.
