MOTORIST FACES CHARGES

As a sequel to a collision which took place in Valley Road last month, George E3wart Murray was charged at the Magistrate's Court yesterday with driving a motor car without due care and attention and also with not having a certificate of fitness for the vehicle.

Sergeant Farrell stated that the case resulted from an accident when the defendant's car had collided with a car driven by Mr A. G. Stewart who with a passenger had received slight injuries.

Mr Otley stated that the night had been a foggy one and this combined with the restricted lighting resulting from the blackout regulathe. defendant 'had turneid his c«r too soon at a corner.

On the first charge the fine was with costs 13s while on the second 10s and costs 10s was the penalty.
