RYAN'S MfISSION It will interest Whalcajtane readers to learn that the young Lieutenant, who was entrusted with the safe passage of King George of the Hellenes, from thei Cretan battlefield to Egypt, formerly lived at Kopeopeo. His mother was Mrs Tv. Armstrong who resided at the Railway Settlement, Awakeri, while his brother, T'etl Ryan, was a wellknown Awakeri footballer, and a noted amateur Cyclist. Lieut. Ryan lived in Whakatane for four years, a boy, and will doubtless be remembered by many of his .old schoolmates.
