A THERMAL WATER SUPPLY
NOTHING eventuates unless some enterprising person or organisation has the faith and the courage to test for possibilities. This is what is happening at the present time in connection with the exploratory tests being made for the location of a body of thermal water within the boundaries of the Borough, The experiments so far indicate that a large volume of such water exists at no great depth, and although temperature and nature are still largely a matter of conjecture, the fact remains that the effort to bring a cliviner to the town has been well worth while, and the theory that a supply existed in this vicinity was well grounded. Should the water be up to expectations,, sufficient enough and warm enough to supply 9, tepid bath, the citizens of Whakatane will be under a considerable obligation to those men who had the foresight to make the first move and put the possibilities to the test.
