TO-MORROW'S RUGBY

THE first game under the newly augmented (Rugby programme for the season will' take place to-morrow, in colaboration with the district units of the Home Guard. The draw shows that the four main centres are fielding a senior and a junior team apiece, thus giving a basis for something like a round of competitional games. There are prospects also of the old antagonists Parca and Poroporo producing two further Maori teams which would serve to make the competitions still more interesting. The outlook is therefore to be considered extremely bright when circumstances are taken into account, the only real reason for disappointment being the poor response from Wha,katane itself. It is hoped however as time goes on to increase the number of players from the town and form yet another senior combination.
