SAFE AND WELL
MATATUA MAORI SOLDIERS
WELCOME NEWS ARRIVES
Word arrived yesterday from Lieut. Horton Stewart of Whakatane, to the effect that he was safe and well and was now resting at the base. The cablegram continues that the whole of the Matatua contingent (men from these parts serving with the Maori Battalion) have come through the recent fighting 'unscathed. Cables have also been received locally that the men of the Fifth Reinforcements are safe and well.
