THE WINTER SHOW

CARRYING ON ! This has become a slogan since the first celebrated broadcast by His Majesty the King, some fifteen months ago. We on the home front have a duty to fulfil pust as much as those of our fighting men who on the other side of the world are fightin-g the hordes of Hitler. We must carry on! The Winter Show represents perhaps the greatest civic institution (from a social point of view), that Whakatane possesses. In these difficult days it is necessary to give this four-day event the fullest possible support from the town and district. War or no war, our progress and enterprise ;in this connection must be maintained. Its success is necessary and vital to our community and the country district .which surroundis the town. Support by way of entries in the various exhibition sections, by way of active co-operation and assistance, by way of membership and by patronage is required. We have no doubt tha,t all this will be forthcoming for under existing circumstances we owe a duty to our Show which has become one of loyalty and citizenship.
