WHAKATANE SCOUT CORNER
From the point, of view -of the boy si themselves, scouting puts them into fraternity groups, which aro natural to boys of scout age, whether to play games, do mischief, or merely to waste their time doing* nothing. The scout movement takes these groups, gives the boy smart dress and equipment, appeals his imagination and romance antL engages him in a useful active life that lie; may become a useful citizen in the. community.
Owing to colds antl other ailments fewer boys attended the meeting on Monday last. The programme mapped out was followed in spite of. this. Several boys qualified in the Second Class test, .Scout'si pace. Instruction in Ambulance; and First Class and Tenderpad were, continued. The evening concluded withf games and a Scout's own prayer. There will be n.o meetings over thai school holidays'.
