The Mayoralty of O>potiki is to be contested this month Avhen G. S. Moody, sitting member if challenged by Joihni T. Merry. There Avill also be an election for thei Borough Councillors, one more l than the required number having been nominated, Avhile the position is similar in connection Avith the Opotiki Hospital, Board. The nominations for Borough Councillors is as follows : A. J. Anderson,, R. H. Davidson, G. L. Day, T. G. Johnson, J. J. Moody, A. E. Reece;, S. Shalfoon, S. E. We'bb, T. J. Webb,, R. J. Whitfield. Opotiki County Council. In the' Waioelta, Upper Waioekn, and Coast Ridings of the Opotiki County the members have been returned unopposed as follows: W, A. Butler, W. A. Gault, R. A. Heclley, G. Neil sen (Waioeka), A. Gelllert (Upper Waioeka), A. E. Blake and C. W. Fairweather (Coast). For one vacancy in the O'hiAva Riding R. Pro/fit and V. E. Wilson are nominated l , for tAA'o seats for the Waiotahi RicUng J. T. Clarke. S. M. Jephson, G. F. Joblin and S. Max wed 1 have been nominated, whilea three-cornered contest for the tAvo Otara Riding seats: will be 1 fought by G. Black, J. McDonnell and F. B. Starky. Hospital Board. The Borough representatives on the Opotiki Hospital Board will be sslectqd from the folloAvirug: Messrs A. J. Anderson, J. D. Clarke, T'. G. Johnson, S. Shalfoon. Ten candidates have nominated for the six vacancies for representatives of the County on the Hospital, Board, viz.: Messrs E. J., Baigent, C. Black, S. M. Jephson, G. F. Joblin, S. MaxAveill, J. McDonnellxG . S. Moody, G. Neilsen, F. B. Starky and V. E. Wilson. Power Board 1 . I W. T. Burrett has been elected I unopposed to represent the Opotiki | Borough on the Bay of Plenty Poaver Board, Avhile an election Avill be necessary for the two County representatives,, W. A. Gault, S. Maxwell and G. S. Moody having been nominated. East Coast Rabbit Board. The following have been elected unopposed asi trustees for the East Coast Rabbit Board: E. M. Hutchr In,son, M. L. Hoi den, C. G. Holdsworth, E. 'M. Monckton and M. T. Trafford.
