Bless the Saints ! Most people know 01* at least arc told by the colonial Scot when St. Andrew's day is : most people know when St, Patrick's Day is in the offing as the product of the Emerald Isle makes it obvious: bul few know when St. George's Day falls—after all he was only an Englishman. Thus many local farmers found themselves inconvenienced on Wednesday last when the local trading banks observed a holiday in honour of the Saint whose favourite! outdoor sport was killing dragons and many were to be seen standing outside local banks muttering to themselves. The banks observe foirSaints days each year as holidays and where throe do not mat lei much, in a dairying district St. George's Day proves awkward as the 23rd finds many sharemilkers and others with their monthly cheques Just received and no means of converting them into coin.
