IN FAIRNESS
• sir, —Among those drawn in the ballot for Overseas was D- B. Stark. In fairness to wee Dougie I wish to state that in 1939 he was a territorial. He enlisted for Overseas and was in the Second Echelon through--out its training at Papakura, at the end of which time he was marched out. (His three brothers were already in the Forces). He immediately rejoined the Ter- f ritorials and went to camp at Te Aroha for three months. (He was my batman, and he kept my polish expens.es zero, as he cleaned my the Colonel's polish) . R. H. HAEUSLER, Major, Hauraki Regt.
