INDUCTION SERVICE
METHODIST CHURCH CEREMONY
WELCOME TO NEW MINISTER
The induction of the new Methodist Minister for Whakaiane, the Rev. G. V. Thomas, was performed by the Rev. H. White, of Tauranga, on Wednesday evening. Mr White, who is superintendent of the Bay of Plenty District, addressed a large congregation.
Following the impressive service the congregation repaired to the Wesley Hall where in the course of a social evening Mir Thomas was welcomed to the district. The speakers were the Rev. H. Hogg, of the Presbyterian Church, who represented the Ministers' Association, the Rev. R. Grice, of the Opotiki Methodist Church, Mr W. Ward, on behalf of members of the Wliakatane<church, and the Rev. H. White, who stroke in the absence of the chairman of the District, Mr Tinsley. Mr Tkomas suitably replied.
