HOME GUARD DANCE
SUCCESS AT WAIMANA The Waimana-Nukuliou Home Guard held a most successful dance in the Waimana Hall last Wednesday evening, when £21 was taken at the door and £3 for a competition. Mr 11. Wardlaw capably acted as M.C. and Mr R. Morton was doorkeeper. The dance music was supplied by Mr D. Boynton's band. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Mirs Miller and Mr S. Mottram and Miss Mary Tuhoro and Mr John Wailiirerc. After a dainty supper had been served, Mr K. Bell, secretai'3 r of the Home Guard, thanked all who had helped to make the dance such ci success, including the band, Mr Morton and the ladies who had assisted. The speaker also thanked the ladies who had provided afternoon tea on two occasions for the "Home Guard parade, and also apologised for the unayoklable absence of Mr N. Macdonald.
