WEDDING BELLS

HOPPING—J AMIESON J The Whakatane Methodist Church, tastefully decorated with pink dahlias and white Michaelmas daisies, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday, March 15, when Miss Eileen Jean Jamicson, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Jamicson, of Te Teko, was married to Mr Charles Edward Hopping, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. Hopping, of Hiluitaia, Thames. The ceremony was performed by, the Rev.) G. PLncas and Miss S. Woodfield played the wedding musicThe bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was beautifully gowned in white lace, thf> skirt falling in a long train and the bodice rucked clown the front in a row of silver buttons. With it sh« Wore a "lovely tulle veil, held in place with a coronet of satin roses. A bouquet of white roses ami lilies was carried. In attendance were Mrs G. McDonald, sister of the bride, as Mat-ron-o [-Honour, and Miss Clarice Broadmore, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid. They wore green and pink taffeta frocks respectively, rucked in front and on the sleeves, and with full skirts. On their heads they wore coronets of pink roses and they carried bouquets of pink begonias and roses. Mr F. Hopping acted as best man and Mr J. Jamieson as groomsman. During the ceremony Mr and Mirs Tonkin, of Tauranga, beautifullv rendered the cluet "Blest be the tie that Binds.," A reception was held at Bell's Hall, Edgecumbe, where the guests were received by Mrs Jameison and Mrs Trebilcock, sister of the bridegroom, who acted in the absence of Mrs Hopping. The bride's mother wore a lovely frock of dnskv pink material, with which she wore a blue coat, a navy hat and navy accessories. She carried a posy of pink zinnias and blue delphiniums. Mrs Trebileock wore a navy frock trimmed with white, and navy accessories. Her posy was of cyclamenshaded pom-pom dahlias.

When the bride and bridegroom departed on their honeymoon the bride was gowned in a beautiful black f*ock with a knife-pleated skirt and the bodice trimmed with silk braid, over which she wore a powdei-blue coat. A black hat and black accessories completed a charming outfit. She also w r ore a beautiful string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. A very happy time Avas later spent at the home of Mr and Mrs Jamieson when the guests of the day gathered together and enjoyed an evening jf music and singing. The bride and bridegroom Avere the recipients of many .lovely presents, expressions of the love and esteem in Avhich they are held by their many friends. Mr and Mrs Hopping Avill make their future home at Hikutaia, Thames. The guests present Avere : Mr and Mrs Trebilcock (Thames), Rev. C, P. Lucas, Mr and Mrs E. Broadmore. Mr and Mrs H.
