WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The annual meeting of the Wai-mana-iNukuhou Women's Institute Gardening Circle wets held, last week at Mrs E. P. Woolfield's residence, Mrs John Addison presided over a good attendance of members. The annual report was presented and revealed a most successful year. Mrs Addison was re-elected president., " and Mrs Mann ion re-elected secretary for the ensuing year. The -winners of the points prizes for the past year were :—General competitions: Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Stevenson 2, Mrs Hughes 3. Best flower: Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Hughes 2, Mrs Stevenson 3. Best vegetable: (Challenge Gup donated by Mrs C. Wylde) Mrs Hughes 1, Mrs Stansbury 2, Mrs A. K. Bell 3. The April meeting is to be held at Mrs Wylde's home, and the competitions to bo best flower, vegetable and an emblem, to be a Maltese Gross-in flowers. The day's competitions were :— Best flower: Mrs Stevenson 1, Mrs Mitchell 2, Mrs K. Bell 3. Best vegetable: Mrs Woolfield (Onion) 1, Mrs Stansbury (Parsnip) 2, Mrs Wylde (Pumpkin) 3. Gent's buttonhole-: Mrs A. K. Bell 1, Mrs Mitchell 2, Mirs Stevenson 3. Flowers arranged in earth in a soup plate: Stevenson 1, Mrs Woolfield 2, Mrs A. K. Bell and Mrs Wylde tied 3.

After a dainty tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Stevenson ancl Mrs Wylde, members walked rouml the garden, which was quite bright with autumn flowers. A hearty votts of thanks was passed to Mrs Woolfield for the use of her home and the pleasant afternoon spent, by all.
