PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES
GALA DAY ARRANGED
MFETING AT edgecumbe A combined meeting of delegates from Patriotic branch committees of the Rangifaiki Plains was held at Edgecumbe on the evening of Tuesday, March 11. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss tentatively a proposal which emanated from the Edgecumbe Committee to hold a Gala Day and Community Picnic in the near future. The decision which took place gave every indication that a programme could be drawn up, which would cater for the tastes of both young and old of both Pakeha and Maori. Advertising of the date and the day's programme will be made as soon as the necessary arrangements have been completed and it is hoped that the public will give this Patriotic effort the greatest possible support. Edgecumbe Donations. Following is a list of donations received by the Edgecumbe Patriotic Committee since the publication ot the last list. If any have been overlooked, the President or the Secretary should be communicated with. It would be of considerable assistance to these officials and the official canvassers if those who have promised donations would redeem their promises and thereby .'.•pare the canvassers the time and expense involved in making special trips.
