TANGI AT TE TEKO

DEATH OF CHIEF

Maoris representing many districts of the Bay of Plenty gathered at Te Teko yesterday when atangi was held, the deaths having occurred of tvo residents in that centre. An old and highly respect! chief, Racrino Patupo, and a younger member of the tribe, a young son of Mr Napier Hona, passed away last week. Members of tin: Maori race were present from Ruatoki, Waimana, Ma lata, Rotoiti, Paroa, Poroporo Te Whaiti and Rotorua to join in the mourning and the attendance was one of the largest seen in tlxis district for some time.
