TRAINED NURSES

BAY OF PLENTY ASSOCIATION QUARTERLY MEETING HELD On Saturday last the quarterly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Trained Nurses Association was held at the residence of Dr and Mrs Dawson. The president, Mrs F. Sumner, . who was the Bay of Plenty's delegate to the annual conference of N.Z. Trained Nurses held recently in Wellington, gave a most interesting report of the proceedings. The N.Z. Trained Nurses Association has undertaken to send as much money as possible for the relief of wounded and distressed nurses serving overseas. The sum of £10 was unanimously voted to be sent from the local branch to the Bedford School of Nursing, EJngland,. to be used for this worthy object. It was also decided that various functions be held in Whakatane to raise money for the same cause, and members of the public who are interested be invited to co-operate. Afternoon tea served by Mirs Dawson brought hi; enjoyable meeting to a close. Members present were: Mesdames F. Sumner, E. T. Dawson, F. Prideaux, E. IJaultain, A. FletcherCole, S. F. Warren, C. A. L'e Leivre, M. Hutton, H. Dewar, Rees, J. Morice. Misses E. Armstrong, M. Gill, N. Harding.
