VISIT OF OFFICIALS ASSISTANCE OF DEPARTMENTS "It just goes to show how far the paper goes," remarked the Mayor at Monday's meeting of the Borough Council when advising members that.he had been approached while at the Municipal Conference by Government officials in re--gard to town planning. '"Ttiey stated that they had seen reference to town planning in the BEACON and had become interested," continued "Mr Barry. His Worship continued to state • that when conversing with the officials at Auckland they had offered Wto visit Whakatane and give the 'Council assistance when they would discuss the matter with members -Wand inspect the town. The officials were Messrs Maw--.son, of the Department of Internal Affairs, and Harper, officer of the > Internal Affairs Department in -•charge of local body activities, both of Wellington.
