FARMERS DISSATISFIED CARRYING ON INDUSTRY Why the New Zealand wool pack should be priced at 6s is to be inquired into by the Wellington Central provincial executive of the Farmers' Union. At the present time the jute pack costs 4s, although at the commencement of the shearing season the j,ute pack was quoted at 3s 9d. Purchasers of wool packs are supplied in the proportion of seven of jute to three of New Zealand and all are sold at 5s 9d, which means that the. merchants lose 3d on the New Zealand pack and make it up on the jute. Farmers are not satisfied that there is any valid reason for the disparity between the two prices and contend that the loc-ally-manufactured pack should not be exploited at the expense of the imported jute pack, which is the most popular.
