WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
OTAKIRI BRANCH The usual monthly meeting of the Otakiri Women's Institute was: held in the hall on February 21, when there was a good attendance of members and visitors. After the singing of the "Ode" the business of the afternoon was discussed. The president, Mrs Tickner, made brief reference to the passing of the late Mrs Kedgley a very esteemed member of the Institute. All present ■:stood in silence, for one minute. Mrs Tickner was nominated for the executive committee of the Bay -of Plenty federation. A wall coft|jj||fetion was won by .'Mrs Dahlih. After the business, members children were entertained to afternoon tea, games and competitions., Each child received a gift, a balloon and sweets. The best flower competition re-i suited as follows: Mrs Hampton 1, Mrs Tickner 2 and 3. A Bring and Buy Stall did brisk business and augmented the Institute funds. Afternoon tea was served by the -committee.
