CRUSHED BY TRAIN
ACCIDENT AT RAILWAY MAN ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL "WMle shunting operations wbre staking place al; Otakiri yesterday ; an accident occurred which necessitated Mr P..T. Kirkwood being • admitted to the local hospital. An • engine was manoeuvring trucks and was assisting when lie - ■ - •«— t /»iass enwas caught between inw - gine and the trucking yards'. He was severely crushed and was immediately rushed to the hospital. It is reported that he suffered severe abrasions and contusions to the thighs, but that no bones were broken. His condition this morning .was satisfactory.
