Aji employee of the Whakatane Paper Miills while operating a rewinding press received injuries yesterday which necessitated his admittance to the local hospital. His right arm to the elbow Avas severely bruised while a cut was received on the shoulder as a result of contacting a slitter. He also is making .good progress towards recovery. MOTOR ACCIDENT LORRY HITS POWIER POLE CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE About £-10 of damage was done when a motor lorry struck a power pole in Whakatane yesterday. Apparently no injury to persons resulted .

It is understood that the lorry was driven by a native, and that enquiries are being made by the local police..
