EVENING WEDDING
FINN—EASON
The marriage of a well known and » popular couple- took place in the Knox Church, Opotiki, on December 2!{, I'JIO, the Rev. J. Currie officiating and Professor Puiyer played the organ. • The church was tastefully decora ated hv friends of .the bride, ..who was given away by her father.
The bride was Marjosie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. O. Eason, and the bridegroom was Harvey eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. Finn, of Whakatane.
Little June - Finn looking very dainty, in a frilled rose pink taffeta lrock, preceded the bride who made a charming picture in her trained ' bridal gown of magnolia satin and needle run lace. The bodice was made with a low neck finished with two rows of pearls, the lace sleeves pointed over the hands were finished with tiny buttons reaching to the elbow. r J he hand worked veil, which was worn over the face on entering the church, was held in place by a high halo of orange blossoms. Christmas orchids and' maiden hair fern bouquet completed the bride's
toilette
The three maids were Misses Hazel ancl Ilene Eason ami Rene Woodside who wore long frocks of taffeta in shades of rose pinlc, mauve and blue respectively. The skirts having wide bands of pin tucks, and the short bodices had low necks and puffed sleeves. They all wore dainty caps tied with gold ribbon, gold lace mittens and gold shoes, and carried floral fans in shades of blue, pink and mauve. Pink pearls were worn and were gifts from the bridegroom. A reception which was attended by a large number of guests tWis held in the Wattle Tearooms. Mrs Eason received her guests wearing a full length teal blue satin striped gown .with pink corsage spray, blue floral toque with eye veil, and bouquet of pink sweet peas.
The bridegroom's mother, Mrs H.Finn, was attired in a black lace and georgette frock Avith veiled black hat trimmed with summer flowers and she carried a bouquet of bronze flowers.
Mrs Eric Zinsli (sister of the bridegroom) wor? navy sliot taffeta with matching velvet coatee and white turban. Miss Barbara Finn was in full length striped satin skirt and black georgette bodice, her cap was of black and gold sequins. Miss Alison Finn wore a dainty blue gown and velvet coatee and turban.
After the reception a dance was held in the Waiotahi Hail where everyone spent a most enjoyable time, Mir and Mrs Mannix supplying the dance music. ' -
Mr and Mrs Finn left by car for their honeymoon, Mrs Finn travelling in a saxc blue and navy ensemble and a navy hat, gloves, etc.
