QUESTION OF FINANCE

PIAKO COUNCIL'S VIEWS Expressing the opinion that, although the Rural Housing Act, according to the Minister of Housing, was simple and designed' to help the farmer, the council was still in the dark as to the procedure for obtaining finance, Mr W. .C. Kennedy, at last week's Piako County Council meeting, said that the onus was on the State Advances Department to see that the loan money which had been, approved by the council was made available. Approximately 20 applications for loans have been approved by the council, but so far notification from the Department concerning provisional subsidies fox only two of these have been received.
