NEW SCHOOL YEAR

LARGELY INCREASED ROLL

ADDITIONAL ROOM NEEDED

The local schools re-opened yesterday for the 1941 school j'ear and the roll was increased beyond all expectations. In the secondary department the number of students has increased greatly, while in the infant school the number of little ones making" their start was considerably more than anticipated.

The total of secondary pupils has now passed that which entitles the school to another teacher, while the accommodation is now inadequate, and application is to be made immediately for the addition to the staff and for the building of another room attached to the secondary department.
