For the purpose of farewelling Drummer H. Mole, who is leaving shortly for training in the Waiouru Military Camp a happy informal gathering of Pipe Band members and their friends took place at the residence of Mr and Mrs r J

The time passed pleasantly in items and dancing, and after a dainty supper, the Chief of the Society, Mr W. J. Simons, made a presentation of an evcrsharp pencil to Drummer Mole on behalf of t!he bandsmen, wishing him success and prosperity. Responding,' Harry said that he regarded his association with the band as the happiest experience of his stay in Whakatanc.
Novel entertainment was provided by the insistence that all preSeiny, provide an item. This was complied witli however and following a special toast of appreciation to the host and hostess the .gathering brokj up with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
