THE WOMEN DO THEIR PART
THE attendance at the meeting called for the purpose of assisting forward the work of the Women's War Service Auxiliary, left 11.0 doubt as to the feelings of the ladies of this district and their willingness to assist in any way posr sible towards the Dominion's war effort. Since the meeting and the subsequent publicity, there have been many enquiries as to the method of joining up with the newlyformed Whakatane Branch of the W.W.S.A. So many offers have come forward that there can be no gainsaying l the success of the movement once it is introduced. At present however there appears to be little else completed other than the formation of a district committee comprising delegates from all parts of the- County. The duty of the'first meeting will be to elect a secretary and set up a working executive with a definite programme to adhere to.
