SCHOOL PICNIC

WAIMANA CHILDREN'S OUTING SPORTS PROGRAMME Once again the annual school picnic for Waimana children proved an unbounded 1 success, the venue being the willowfringed banks of the Waimana stream and an adjoining field where the sports programme took place. All children present were given ample ice cream and bags of sweets. The former was kindly donated by Messrs Bell and Hodgson and the j sweets by Messrs McConncll and Co. After afternoon Mir Bob Ward law presented prizes to pupils, and Ngaire Mitcheil, on behalf cf the school children, presented Miss Wragge with a gift and wished her the. compliments of the season. Bruce Bell, on behalf of the gathering, presented Mr Bell the headmaster, with a gift and wished him a Happy New Year. Both teachers suitably responded;, thanking the pupils and their parents.
