ROUTINE AFFAIRS The monthly meeting of the Wair mana-Nukuhou Women's . The meeting opened with the singing ol' the Institute song and "God Defend New Zealand." A letter was received from the Whakatanc Hospital thanking the members for books and magazines , sent in. It was decided to hold a . Garden Party for W.I. funds on the 22nd, Mrs Burnett having, offered her home and garden for the purpose. The Glee Club entertained by presenting the "Wedding of the Painted Doll." , . The arrangements for the forthcoming show were dealt with, the stewards and helpers being appointed. Mrs N". Clark gave a most interesting talk on the W.I. trip to England. The day's competitions were well entered for and the display' of flowers was beautiful. Mrs John Alddison was in charge of the sales, table which did good business. A. sponge sandwich, donated by Mrs E. A. Bell, for competition, was won by Mrs W. Wardlaw. The judges of the competitions were Mass Corbel t (Napier) and helper, the results 'weru as follows: — Slice of Xmas Cake: Mrs Eagle 1, Mrs H. Wardlaw 2, Mrs I. Savage 3. 10 entries. Vasfc of Flowers for effect: Mrs Stevenson i,, . Miss Black 2, Mrs King 3. 9 entries. Best Flower: Mrs T. Wardlaw (Dahlia) I, Mrs Granswiclt (Gladioli) 2, Miss M), Wardlaw (Dahlia) 3. Best Vegetable: Mrs T. Wardlaw (Cabbage) 1, Mrs F. Bell (Green Peas) 2, Mrs Hewitt (Cabbage) 3.

The meeting closed with the National Anthem.
