SCHOOL CHILDREN'S EFFORT

SUM OF £7 RAISED

A very successful effort to raise funds for the Patriotic appeal was made by the Waimana School children recently. Bring and buy stalls were held' andl several games and competitions carried out, the takings being £7. The children gave a wonderful exhibition of drill and school games, folk dancing and the May Pole Dance. Items given were: Sailor's Hornpipe: Lois Ward law, Recitation; Ngaire Mitchell, Highland Fling; Vocal Quartette, Beryl Flint, Patsy Boynton, Anne-Leith Luttrell and Maureen Wardlaw. Competition winners, were: Hitting Hitler's Face, Mr H. Wardlaw; Work Basket, Peter Elliott; Box of chocolates, A. N. Boynton. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the school girls.
