CONSIDERATION BY SOCIETY MEMBER'S SUGGESTION \ ' • . The venue of future inglesides was under warm discussion ati the annual meeting, of the Whakatane Caledonian Society last Monday evening when Mr W. How at put forward a suggestion which may well be supported by members of this very progressive organisation. Mr Howat pointed out that the question of a hall for the Society's activities had always, been a vexed one. The time was fast approaching he said, whe:i" the Society should go into the matter of building their oAvn hall." It was a comparatively simple matter to take out some shar es in a building society and to await a draw. When this eventuated,! if the time was not opportune then, the money coulcl be capitalised, but in the meantime he regarded it as very sound investment. In possessing its own hall the Society would have an which would bring ii? returns..
