Full meeting's of the Carnival Executive have been held during the holidays and it would now appear that all arrangeiments are now completed for si

first class carnival to-morrow evening. The children's section will be a colourful one in itself, while entries already to hand for decorated vehicles procession indicate that the event will be one of the finest of its kind> seen iis the district At a recent meeting of the executive over which Mr Mclsaac presided, the organiser, Mr Harry Ten-. nant reported that he had arranged for judges for the Children's Procession in the evening. A banner nvould also be erected across thc*i main street 'r.nd posters placed a 5 suitable intervals. Mr Mclsaac reported that arrangements had likewise been made for the exhibition platform near the monument. Free Ice Cream, Mr Kingsley-Smith reported that he had interviewed Mr Righton who was willing to distribute 500 coupons to children which would enable each holder to procure an ice cream from any of his agency shops, .(applause).A hearty vote of thanks was accorded. , Mr Smyth stated that he had. Engaged the Gaiety Boys' Orchestra at £7-10-0. Action approved. The quest-

Ihe authority was given however, to stop all traffic as from 7 p.m. and. to clear all the southern side of cars prior to that lime.
